Getting the best performance on FSX?
I'm a newb when it comes to internal computer hardware so i'm asking the Yahoo community for some help.
from what I can tell it's my video card that is holding my flight simulator experience back and I have been looking into upgrading it. In my research into upgrading I only found more questions, like power supply etc...
Here's my computer stats, and this barely allows me to push my graphics settings above minimum in FSX
Acer Aspire X1800
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2500Mhz
Ram: 4gb DDR2
Video Card: NVidia GeForce 7100/ NVidia nForce 630i
I found this out using PC Wizard, I then opened my Casing to find out my power supply is a Delta Electronics DPS-220UB A
questions:
Is the video card the main thing holding me back?
Do I need to upgrade my PSU to get a better graphics card?
what video card should I consider, price being a big factor?
NVidia GTX460 is an excellent driver. You could also upgrade to windows vista or 7 64 bit which will then allow you to double your memory too!
