my computer isn't booting i've tryed all i know please help?
my other laptop is having a problem in start up it only makes it half way when the OS is starting i need to start in dos and run check disc how do i start in dos on windows 2000 i can't find it anywhere the problem happened when starting after a restart because of installing a flash drive driver also i tried changing my boot priority in the bios to bring the main drive first and i'm not able to boot into last known good configuration or any version of safe mode also i have experience in IT and i just can't figure it out i even asked my friend does IT and he had no clue i don't have the install disc or boot disc the computer say's inaccessible boot device i'm using a dell latitude CSx
A couple of thoughts, probably no help though:
1) If your CPU is overheating during boot, it won't boot all the way. Try putting your laptop in the refrigerator for a couple of hours then try again.
2) You may be attempting to start windows from a corrupt image. I am going to suggest that you boot as far as you can, then just before it crashes, power off (don't shut down) by hitting the power button. The idea is to get your system to "recognize" that the kernel is corrupt and to force an OS kernel rebuild. It will take a VERY long time to boot but should build a valid image and boot OK after that.
3) Try booting from the battery if the problem happens on full-power mode, or if it happens from a battery boot, try from full power mode. Also, take the battery out and boot with just the power plugged in.
Those are the only things I can think of to try. No guarantee that they will help, but they've helped me in similar situations.
