I'm trying to install a wireless adaptor !?
I have a Belkin wireless adaptor, model # F5D7050. I'm trying to use it on a DELL LAT. CPX , 500mhz, P3 with WXP Pro. Actually, I think the problem is with configuration within the O.S.. When I open the NETWORK CONNECTIONS, it shows INTERNET GATEWAY and LAN OR HIGH-SPEED INTERNET. The GATEWAY status shows bilatteral comm. ( Packets sending and recieving ) with the internet. The obvious problem is that MY COMPUTER is showing to be recieving from the GATEWAY and is not sending comm. to the GATEWAY. I'm not shure what I'm overlooking as this is a little ( A LOT ) beyond my skill level, but here goes; The Belkin utility appears on the desktop and on the taskbar. The program appears in the control panel under the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS list. 2 network icons appear in the taskbar, one is blinking and one isn't. The NETWORK CONNECTONS window show the I.G. AND the LAN enabled.When I open the Belkin Utility, the belkin LINK INFO PROFILE STRING shows an intermittent failure between my
Ok. First, go to start, and select run. Type in services.msc. Hit enter or select, whatever. Scroll down the list to the WIRELESS ZERO CONFIGURATION. Start that service. After you have started it, click on the Windows WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION icon in the taskbar. Make sure you select the one for your computer, not the one for your adapter. If you cant find it there, go into your control panel, hit network connections, and right-click on the one labeled WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION and select 'View Available Wireless Networks'. You should have a list of available networks, provided you have done everything correctly. Click on the network with the highest signal. Connect to it. If it is a secured network, and you need a code to connect properly, you have two options. You can either change the modem settings, or type in your code. The code can be found on your modem.
