Cpu Transfer
Cpu Transfer

Can you transfer a CPU from one computer to another?
Say the CPU that is up for transfer is a Intel Celeron D 300 thats been running for 5 years with some overuseage to a another computer that has none (don't ask) without seperating the CPU from the heatsink
Yes you can, but you would have to first remove the CPU heatsink, set it aside. open the CPU latch on the motherboard, take the CPU out, clean out the thermal paste, put the CPU in the new motherboard, apply new thermal paste, then put the heatsink back ontop of the CPU. During the process the heatsink will have to be removed from the CPU, but you will end up putting it back with the CPU once again after you are done.
