my cpu fan does not fit my new mother do i need a new one or can i use the x clamp from my old motherboard?
i was trying to install the cpu fan on my new mother board but there is not way to screw the cpu fan on the motherboard.
the 4 holes are there but nothing to hold it in place.
i was thinking of removing the x clamp thing that is behind my old motherboard.
will this work ?
or will i need to buy a new cpu fan?
(which i cant afford at the moment)

The problem with fitting old things is generally they are not strong enough and it needs to be a very snug fit.
It it is not the processor will overheat and that costs a lot more money than just a cpu fan and heat-sink.
It really is not worth the risk, you really need a new fan and heat-sink.
