Is it necessary to cover speakers in proper "speaker cloth"?
Hi there, I'm making some speakers and need to choose a fabric to cover them with. I've found some places where I can get speaker cloth which is apparently "acoustically transparent" but to be honest I don't think it looks that great. Is it in any way detrimental to use normal fabric instead of "speaker cloth"?
There are LOTS of varieties of speaker cloth. If you don't like what you're seeing, find another source.
Normal fabric may restrict your sound a lot, particularly the high frequencies.
