I have DSL on my desktop pc, how do I connect my laptop to it?
I have a wireless card (super g wireless cardbus adapter) and I've installed it and everything on my laptop, but I can't get a connection. Do I have to configure my desktop or something? HELP!
you should share your connection from desktop pc.
easily right click on your connection and select properties.
then you should make a little network.
in windows xp, easily using a work group.
it is possible from computer properties ( right click on my computer and select properties). and name it anything in both computers.
finally you should set IP addresses. from connection properties select Internet Protocol ( TCP/IP ) and select using the following IP addresses:
For PC desktop :
IP: 10.0.0.1
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: (nothing)
For Laptop :
IP: 10.0.0.2
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 10.0.0.1
now you have a little network with internet connection.
