I have a DELL Inspiron E1505/6400 with ATI X1400 and i wish to upgrade it to a nVidia 8600M GT is it possible?
I dont know about my chipset or mother board i only know i have core duo 1.74 GHz and WXGA 1440x900
Do you have a manual about how to change the video card in case it is possible?
Please help me!
It should be possible in my opinion. I have Dell 6400 with ATI X1300 and I have just ordered nVidia 7300 video card (part number NJ887) because driver support for ATI card under Linux is very poor and I want to replace it.
I am 100% sure that you can replace that ATI X1300 with that nVidia.
Also I have read on the internet that someone upgraded such laptop with better nVidia card than 7300 model, the only drawback was higher system temperature, so one has to be careful to not overheat the system but it does work.
