Old ATX PSU What Kind of Metal is the Case Made From?
I salvaged an older ATX PSU and am going to use the metal case for a light for my saltwater aquarium.
What kind of metal is the case made from?
Originally I was thinking it was aluminum but now I'm thinking it's tin or something...

The saltwater won't touch it,
there might be some very light salt spray on it though. It's steel for being attracted to a magnet(duh why didn't I think of it, aluminum is not magnetic)
Epoxy would be rather expensive compared to buying an aluminum case of some sort for $10.
I'm hanging an aluminum heatsink over my reef aquarium, mounting high power LEDs onto the heatsink and might use the PSU box away from the tank for other stuff and find a aluminum box to piggyback on the heatsink to hold my LCD and led drivers...

Most cases were made of steel. Get out a magnet and test.
Some higher end PSUs used aluminum for better heat dissipation, but that is/was rare.
