Harddrives not recognized on new mainboard?
I bought a ASUS P5LD2 mainboard because the other didn't work anymore. It has 1 IDE connector, 2 EIDE connectors (red) and 4 S-ATA connectors. I have two EIDE harddrives on one cable that I connected to the EIDE connector and they don't get recognized by the bios.
Of course i can put them on the IDE but I need that one for my cdrom (the EIDE doesn't support ATAPI devices).
Any ideas??
I cannot disable S-ATA because I have to install 3 S-ATA drives and they need to work:-)
The jumpersettings on the harddrives are fine. I changed the cables and tested the drives in another system.
search in ur BIOS setup, u MUST find the option that disable ur SATA, and the only work now its PATA.
this option is disabled by default , and turn to disable even when u load the deafult setup.
