Should I Return My Asus Striker II Formula nForce 780i motherboard?
Plz will someone post a reply.
Hi guys need help I received my Asus Striker II Formula nForce 780i (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard today all chuffed about this board got great reviews from all the websites that i went on. So i thought maybe i should have a look on Asus forums to see what other Asus Striker II Formula users where saying about the board, OMG now i am SH***ing myself the amount of post from people who are having alot of difficulties with this board from updating bios to screens freezing, over heating of components sata ports on not showing up, lan ports not working and this is with the latest Bios update. So guys i'm thinking of returning this board what do you guys think? If i do return it what do you think i should replace it with? thanks guys for all your help.
as with all bleeding-edge enthusiast boards...there going to be issues like the ones youe mentioned. Unless you encounter those, don't worry about it. I wouldn't even flash the bios anyway. Unless you plan on using one of the new 1600mhz fsb chips, then don't worry....your board will smoke everything. Because of the price, the only thing they could really replace it with would be the same thing. If you run into problems, it would be sooner rather than later and you can RMA it.
i just looked into those issues you mentioned...looks like problems with the yorkfield chips...so go wolfdale. Also, the networking issues are fixed on latest bios.
