What is the best midi mixer / controller to use with Ableton Live specifically for DJ'ing?
I've just got Ableton Live and I want to set up Ableton for DJ'ing. I'm new to the software and up until now I've used Vinyl and Cd's. I'm a bit lost as to what control surface to buy to bring my dj'ing to life. I want something that feels like a traditional mixer but unfortunately I don't have the dosh to buy one of the top end Korg's or Allen & Heath's. Any suggestions? Ideally something that allows me to control about 8 channels with faders and also a good array of buttons for launching clips etc. Any answers are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
Go for a Faderfox LC2 or LV2. Bulletproof, small, configurable, and Live 7.03 onward has an auto config template for them. I have the LC2 because I like a crossfader, but the LV2 is equally great.
