Have I completely killed my new Apple Power Mac?
I'm a first time Mac user; plan to major in digital art in college and figured I'd start getting used to the platform ahead of time. My dad just got me used Power Mac G4 for my birthday and I started it up last night, it worked great. When I went to shut it off, however, I had no clue how to and ended up just pulling the plug.
Today, when I went to set it up in my basement, it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in, and when I pressed the power button it would blink on then right back off and stay off. I don't know what I did, but I would much appreciate any help that could be offered!!!
First off I can save you $200. Best buy will say it's fried you need a new one and refer you to a customer service rep to help you find a new computer. That guy should be ban from answers for suggesting such a thing. Make sure the power cord is all the way in and try it on a different outlet. If that doesn't work you can take it to a local computer shop that charges no more than $45 an hour and have them take a look. You should never unplug a computer to power it down.
