Agp Head Dual
I need an AGP graphics card with DirectX 9 support or higher?
I have a non-integrated graphics card that's about 10 years old (Matrox Millenium g450 Dual Head) and want to get an upgrade so I can play some newer PC games. I've heard Nvidia makes good ones, but all of their products seem to be PCI-E, while my motherboard only supports AGP. Can someone suggest a couple different products that would work for me? If it makes a difference, the game I'm trying to run is Portal (and later Portal 2) which requires DirectX 8.1 support, and I probably don't want to spend over $100 on the graphics card. Thanks for any help!
(I understand that AGP is kind of outdated, and most newer graphics cards support PCI-E, so hopefully there is something that works for me)
Nvidia abandoned the AGP interface about 4-5 years ago, so currently they aren't very competitive. The best AGP cards are all ATI models. However for your purposes it doesn't really matter since your computer probably is fairly old and might not handle the highest-end AGP cards. Here are a few decent ones which can play Portal:
