Can i hook up a lan-line phone headset into the micropone and speaker jacks on my computer with an adapter?
I want to plug the headset jack from my phone into my computer's microphone and speaker jacks... is there any kind of adapter for this ?
I have been looking online but i dont think i am describing it properly. i basically dont want to use the headset from my phone, i want to talk from my computer mic and speaker jack instead of my lan line phone
the cable is smaller than an rj-11, it looks like it has 4 wires in it, are these just pos(+) and neg(-) for inout and output? can i just splice these into a phone jack?

I would not recommend it as the voltage from the phone line is -48 volts DC and that will not be nice to microphone and speaker jacks, as well the ringing voltage peaks at -90 volts DC. So you would have to build an electronic circuit to do the impedance matching, change the voltage and current. If you need to be told how to design and build the circuit, I would suggest that you do not attempt it, because you could damage your computer, it you make a mistake..
