Laptop Cooling, Fan speed.?
Okay, I have a dv5-1251nr.
When I boot up the computer into windows it hovers around 60C. When I turn off Performance and switch to Balanced it goes down 42C.
Problem is the fan stays at one speed no matter the temperature. The cooling is set to active but that seems to have no affect.
Speed-fan doesn't show throttle controls due to it being a laptop. And the HP bios sucks majorly.
Hopefully someone knows what I can do. Replacing would mean the entire Heatsink if I'm not mistaken as the fan seems to be built in.
*sigh*
Here's something I wouldn't mind knowing if it's possible.
Is there a way to Hot-wire it?
make it so it's maxed RPM's all the time?
It's a 3 wire fan.
